Laos in brief the people’s Democratic Republic of Laos is located in the center of in the center of Indochina, sharing borders with China to North West, Thailand to West, Cambodia to the South, and Vietnam to the East. Laos has a population about 5, 5 million inhabitants and make up of 48 different ethnic groups with an area of 236,000 square kilometer. Around 70% of it its terrain is mountainous reaching a maximum elevation of 2,820 m in Xieng Khouang Province. The landscapes of northern Laos and religion adjacent to Vietnam in particular are dominated by hills. The Mekong River is the main geographical feature in the west and in fact from natural border with Thailand and some areas. The Mekong flows through nearly 1,900 km of Laos. In the south the Mekong reaches a breadth of 14 km, creating an area with thousands of land. The capital Vientiane and all other major cities and towns are located of the bank of the Mekong River, while virtually every village depends on the vital bon between the land and water. Itinerary in details
Day 1: Arrival Vientiane – Hightlights of Vientiane (L/D)

You are welcomed by a local guide at Wattay international airport. Then transfer to your hotel. in the afternoon enjoy a city tour to Wat Sisaket with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues, Wat Prakeo, which was the original home of the famous Emerald Buddha, which today lives in Bangkok, also visit Wat Simuang and other sites you will see include That Luang monument, the great sacred stupa, and next door, Vientiane's own Patouxay (Victory Gate), Centrally located on Lane Xang Avenue, this monument was built in the 1960s to commemorate those who died in past wars. The monument was modeled after the Arc de Triumph in Paris, yet retains its Laotian identity with traditional decorative motifs. Climb to the top for a panoramic view of the city. Last visiting of this day is to take a short walk for the reddish sunset on the Mekong riverbank.
Dinner is served in a famous restaurant with a traditional Laos Music and dancing accompaniment. Then return to your hotel.

Day 2: Vientiane – Nam Ngum lake – Vang Vieng (B/L/D)

 

Laos Overland Tour

After a full breakfast, begin the drive to overland to Vang Vieng by private car. En route, you could witness the beautiful scenery and take a short stop observing the traditional salt extraction (salt making village). Enjoy seeing the way of life of local people along the road and also observe sticky rice wine distillation at Ban Pak Kha Nhoung. Then continue to take a boat trip about 30 minutes on Nam Ngum dam (282 Paradise islands) at 92km on road No.10. This is the largest lake in Laos. This artificial lake was built to produce electricity and was indeed the first hydroelectric dam ever built in Laos. Activities of traditional catching fish would be found here. Enjoy your lunch with Lao main dishes by the lakeside. Late afternoon, continue to overnight in Vang Vieng, a small town situated on the skeleton of Nam Xong river and facing forward to evergreen mounts. For the rest of time, free at leisure. Dinner will be served on the terrace.

Day 3: Vang Vieng – Luang Prabang (B/L/D)
After breakfast, check out of your hotel; visit the local market and then the Tham Jang caves through which flows a crystal clear stream before continuing the drive to Luang Prabang. This memorable afternoon drive passes through splendid scenery and past many panoramic lookout points on the winding mountaintop road. There are several stops en route to take in the scenery. You will arrive in Luang Prabang early in the evening, check into the hotel, and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant or the hotel (depending on time factor). Welcome to Luang Prabang, the former royal capital & crown jewel of the ancient Lane Xang Empire the Land of a Million Elephants.

Day 4: Luang prabang – Temples and Around Luang Prabang (B/L)
After breakfast, enjoy a half -day exploration around Luang Prabang, the one of the World Heritage Sites in Laos named by UNESCO. Well known as rich in cultural heritage, the seat of timeless culture, and epitomizes the graceful architectural style.
Visit Wat Mai, built in 1796, the five tiered roof of the wooden Sim (chapel) and its big columns decorated in Lao motif, National Museum, once a king's palace. A collection of personal artifacts belonging to the former Royal Family. Phou Sii hill naturally stands right in the center
of the small charming city. Climb its 320 steps sight-seeing the whole views of town for many miles in each direction. Wat Phu Sii situates at atop mountain, along side the clue of Indochina war anti-aircraft guns! Wat Xieng Thong temple further emphasizes the uniqueness of Luang Prabang, its several roofs sweeping low to the ground. Here see also the impressive "tree of life" mosaic. Wat Vixoun temple, the site of unique stylistically shaped as a Half melon stupa, originally built entirely of wood, was for many years a museum of architecture.
You can find dinner on your own arrangement at any number of fine international restaurants and Lao beer is an excellent taste and differs from other, and many types of oversea wine are also available at reasonable prices.
Day 5: Luang Prabang – Mekong River Cruise to Pak Ou Cave (B/L)
If you wish, make an early start with your guide to witness or participate in the local tradition of alms gving to the monks. In the city, some 300 monks file through silently collecting alms. This is an amazing sight and your guide will be on hand to demonstrate and explain this important ritual. Then return to your hotel for breakfast. i
Then on board a traditional boat along the mystery Mekong river to visit the famous & sacred Buddha Caves. From the cave, overlooking the confluence of the Mekong “ the Mother of river” & Ou Rivers, has been housed to many thousands of Buddha images that were placed here by local people since 16th century. Walk through the caves before having the romantic picnic lunch which will be served at a bamboo cottage, where you can satisfy panoramic view of mountain ranks and turquoise green rivers.
On the returned route, take a short visit the rice wine distillation (Lao Traditional whiskey-Lauw Lao) at Ban Xang Hai village. Forward to the hotel to relax or explore on your own. Luang Phrabang is a wonderful walking town, and you can find dinner on your own at any number of fine international restaurants.
Tonight, if you’d like, your guide escort you the local nightlife - shopping at Night market (Night Bazaar), disco or Lao circle dancing ( Lamvong ) techniques.

Day 6: Luang Prabang – Kuang SII Waterfall – Next Destination (B)
After breakfast, drive with your guide by car to the Kwang Sii waterfall. The fall cascade over many calcified tiers and down several hundred feet into a series of cool, turquoise pools. If you’d like to bring a bathing suite if you’d like to swim. After ward, transfer to the Airport for your flight onward.
